GAD Information page

If you do get a diaper that is the wrong size, or you just plain don't like it; I will take anything back for a store credit within 30 days that is unwashed/unused. Custom Diapers and custom embroidered diapers will have a 20% re-stocking charge.
All of our measurements are with the diaper un-stretched and on the smallest setting and then stretched out and on the largest setting.
Waist is the measurement around your baby's waist measured 1 inch below the belly button.

Rise measured from 1 inch below the belly button, between the legs and up the back to 1 inch below the belly button if your baby had a belly button in the back *grin*

The Thigh is measured around the part of the thigh where the diaper will sit.

Stride is the width of the diaper between the baby's legs.

I hope this will help you choose a GAD that will give your baby the best fit.

These Colorful cloth diapers can either be stuffed with a GAD insert, any pocket diaper insert that fits side to side or a pre-fold, or used as a cover over a trim fitted. Each diaper has 3 adjustable snap settings on the back wings and is side snapping. Since we use snaps this means there is no scratchy Velcro. The side snapping diapers are usually harder for babies to take off themselves. Our Diapers are made with PUL (a waterproof fabric) for the outside layer, & buttery soft micro fleece or suedecloth for the inside layer. Suedecloth and micro fleece wick moisture off of your babies skin so they won’t get a diaper rash or feel the wetness. Then our diapers are serged wrong sides together and turned right side out so there are no rough edges touching your baby. They are trim fitting depending on what you stuff them with; even when we stuff these diapers with a pre-fold they fit fine under regular clothes. There is an absorbent and very trim hemp insert that you may add-on to your order which has a flap that folds one way for girls and the other for boys. Hemp is a natural product, grown without pesticides and not bleached, which is very harmful to the environment. Hemp also protects your baby because it is naturally anti-microbial. Or you can get a thirsty but not as trim as the hemp, Microfiber insert. The microfiber inserts are sewn with the same design and they do not require any priming like the hemp does
Hemp needs to be Primed before it can reach it's maximum absorbency. You can prime your hemp by washing it in Hot water any drying it about 10 times or you can boil it. The Hemp insert can be used before it's been primed, but remember that it may not hold as much liquid as your other inserts, after it's been washed about 10 times, it should be fully primed and work just as well as your other inserts.

Pocket Diaper Care and Washing tips
After removing the dirty diaper from your baby, shake any solids off into the toilet. The suedecloth or micro fleece inners are great for releasing anything fairly solid. Remove the insert and then rinse any solids remaining on the diaper with a diaper sprayer. Store dirty diapers in a dry pail.
On washday run the diapers through a cold rinse to remove any solids that may remain on the diaper and to rinse out most of the urine. Then wash on hot or warm with 1/4 the normal amount of detergent (you can use less or more depending on load size and your water) Then check your rinse water on the hot wash and if there are bubbles on the top of the water, give it another rinse. I usually use cold to save energy, but I think any temp would be good. Check the last rinse for bubbles and if you still see bubbles, keep rinsing until there are no bubbles in the water. If you have to rinse more than once, use a little less detergent the next time you wash diapers. This is all that is necessary for a thorough cleaning.
Tumble-dry them on Hot or medium, new information says it is actually good for the PUL to be dried on hot. PUL was invented for the medical industry and is meant to hold up to the really high temperatures of the sterilization process used in the medical industry. However it does break down elastic faster and will cause the bamboo velour to not stay as soft for as long. So its a good idea to dry your diapers on Medium or even line dry them and if you do notice leaking throw them in a Hot dryer for a cycle.
Once dry let your diapers cool off before you stuff them. If you stuff the diapers while they are still warm it can cause the elastic to break. When your diapers are cool stuff the diaper again so it is ready for the next use!
Things NOT to do to your GAD:
Do not use a detergent that has built in Fabric softeners, Optical brighteners, Fragrance or enzymes. All of these additives can coat the diapers and cause stink, repelling and diaper rash.
Don`t use any bleach products or Bac out, bleach is a strong chemical and will break down the fibers in the diapers. To remove stains, hang or lay your diapers in the sun, it works wonders!
Don’t use fabric softener. It will coat the diapers making them water repellent and will cause leaks! Be aware that if you use dryer sheets in your dryer for other laundry this can coat your dryer and transfer to your diapers.
